About this novel and its creator
I am a 50 year old novelist and creative writing teacher. I don’t work in the tech industry, nor do I have any insider knowledge of AI (Artificial Intelligence), ML (machine learning), or VR (virtual reality). Like you, I hear about it daily in the news and finds myself imagining what the world is about to become, which is the inspiration for This Memoir Will Be Written by Robots.
I am writing the story, but the images are created by a mixture of AI, photography, and photoshop, thus the contrast in how the characters might look panel to panel. I will be continuing to create this graphic novel in real time each week, knowing that AI is progressing at such a rapid pace that soon I will not need photography or photoshop. Just AI. You will see the advancements in sophistication and intelligence here first hand.

Incidentally on your point about live language translation making learning a language potentially redundant check out these new RayNeo X2 glasses - perhaps for inspiration for you. I had been looking forward to getting some at some point mainly for allowing me to travel to other countries and be able to understand the local culture - could be an amazing way to help people understand other cultures as well as the dystopian angles perhaps?
